I originally started my career as a Developmental Service worker over 18 years ago supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. My strong desire to help people to create meaningful changes in their lives led me to become a social worker. I hold both Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Laurentian University. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals across all spans of their lifetime including children, teens, adults, and seniors. I provide support to individuals with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, social anxiety, stress management, burnout, life transitions, chronic pain, insomnia, panic, self harm, trauma, and grief.

I support couples to find their way back to each other and grow. I help them to identify underlying concerns, establish a deep and meaningful emotional connection, build better communication skills, unveil new understanding of each other, and recover intimacy in order to flourish and build a loving, exciting, and caring relationship.

Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and concerns, I utilize a variety of methods to create a tailored approach unique to each individual depending on their treatment needs. I draw from an eclectic framework of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectal behaviour therapy, emotion focused therapy, mindfulness, somatic, brain spotting and polyvagal approaches. Additionally, I utilize a wide variety of trauma informed approaches to facilitate healing. My therapeutic approaches consider the complex interconnections between the biological, psychological, and social aspects of an individual’s life.

My role is to provide support and guidance to my clients. I believe in establishing a meaningful connection in order to help them draw on their own strengths, develop new skills and strategies to empower them to make positive changes in their life. I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging environment so you feel comfortable and empowered. I look forward to having the privilege of accompanying you on a journey of healing and self-discovery!

Personally Speaking: I am originally from Northern Ontario and I have a passion for the great outdoors! When I am not busy helping clients, you can find me hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, skating, biking, camping and spending time at the cottage. I love yoga and reading a good book. I love spending time with friends and my family!

I have training in multiple modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Because our individual needs vary, I adapt and integrate concepts from different modalities based on my clients’ needs.

I am also currently pursing my Family Mediation Certificate which will allow me to expand the scope of services I am able to offer. Whether you are struggling to cope, experiencing anxiety or depression or looking to enhance your relationship, I am here to help. As a mother and a partner juggling a busy schedule, I know first-hand how important our mental well-being is to living a happy life.

My career journey has included varied experiences in different settings. I previously worked as a social worker in ICU and Acute Care at both Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospitals. I was also the assigned Social Worker to the Pandemic Response Unit at the height of the COVID- 19 crisis.

Outside of my professional role, I have a very strong commitment to supporting our community and advocating for systemic change. I was previously elected in 2014 as a Public School Board Trustee for Wards 9 and 10 in Mississauga and served for eight years from 2014-2022.  I led the charge to increase support for special education, advance numerous infrastructure projects, and was a champion for equity issues for children in the school system.

I AM NOT THE THERAPIST THAT SIMPLY SMILES AND NODS. I know what it takes to keep a relationship strong and work best with clients who are tired of being unhappy. My clients are most successful when they are willing to do what it takes to make some changes. I can’t change your relationship.
